Wind Turbines Get Away with Murder

This website supports the Forbes article in which the author focuses on an interesting point, the decline in eagle and bird population. Due to wind turbines, birds of many species collide with the structures, causing an extreme decline in population. The article is backed by statistical data conducted over several years and in several locations.

This article is written by John Droz, Jr., a physicist & environmental advocate. It explains 20 various reasons as to why wind turbines are bad. It takes other positive claims, by those who support wind turbines, and uses other facts to claim that they should not be supported.

The website below has a differing opinion about the author above. Instead of backing the author, this particular piece slams the author as not being a climate expert and disputing the work he has put forward, therefore causing a debate about the reliability of the author and the points he is trying to make. A really neat and unexpected perspective!

This website is an independent search engine and with that comes the need is the need for caution. As mentioned in other websites, these answers are not necessarily correct and may contain bias. Students trust things that they are familiar with. Therefore, when a child hears Yahoo, they feel comfortable and immediately trust the information. This is a great site to show the students that just because you know the name, does not mean you can trust the source.

Here are the Pro websites to choose from.

Here are the Con Websites

This website talks about the environmental impacts of wind power. It discusses the impacts that wind farms have on land, wild life, habitat, public health, water use, and life cycle. This website only shares the cons of wind farms, but does say that there is vast potential. There is also a link on the page to learn how turbines work and a link to see the benefits of wind energy. Most of the studies used in this article were scientific studies, but again addressing only cons.
